FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK

BOOK WEEK 2022
On a magnificent sunny morning we gathered for our Author's expo, book parade, picnic morning tea and book fair. It was a magnificent day and I thank the parents most sincerely for the effort that went into the student costumes - everyone looked fantastic. Thank you to the organising committee: Mrs Sammat, Mrs Benoit, Mrs Brodnik, Mrs Campbell and Mrs Mitrevski.

CEDoW invited schools to start a meaningful conversation, and shine a light on mental health and wellbeing, through the "R U OK RHYTHMS - A Simultaneous Drumming for Wellbeing” experience.

Thank you Mrs Sommerville for teaching the students how to drum. Check out the St Brigid's drummers.

Congratulations to Samuel S for his progression to the MacKillop trials for Cricket at Wagga. Sam was a wonderful ambassador for St Brigid's and performed very well.
Grace D has progressed through to the MacKillop Selection Trials at Homebush in September. We wish Grace all the best!
Audrey G was selected to try out for the MacKillop Rugby Union 7's team and in her words, "unfortunately I didn't make it but I learned a lot of skills, had a great time and made lots of friends" and we couldn't be prouder of you Audrey! That's what sport is all about.
Keep your eye out for nomination considerations for the 2023 Diocesan Sports Trials, which will be requested via Compass next term.

COVID-19 SMART PROCEDURES FOR COMING ONTO SITE

Despite many restrictions being lifted, the St Brigid’s staff have elected to continue to wear face masks to keep healthy and to achieve learning continuity for the students by avoiding sickness and absenteeism. Therefore, I ask that you show your support for the staff by adhering to the 4 COVID-19 smart procedures below when you come onto the school site as a volunteer or visitor.

CATHEDRAL CAR PARKING - CAN YOU HELP?

images.jpg

If you can assist at some of the upcoming events, please add your name to the google spreadsheet.

Please continue to fill in the reporting google form if your child has even the mildest of respiratory symptoms; is a close household contact, or has tested Positive for COVID-19.

The information contained in this form gives me very good data about prevailing illness in the school which I can communicate to parents to help us all work together to ensure the health and safety of our community.

This google form can be found on the St Brigid’s website, as a link in the Brigid Bulletin and by clicking the link in the COMPASS news-feed.

Students and staff who have undergone testing and have been directed to self-isolate can return to school when: they have received a negative test result, completed their 5 day isolation period AND are not displaying symptoms of illness.

Your support in ensuring the health and safety of the St Brigid’s Community during this global pandemic has been greatly appreciated.

REPORTING FORM

Please complete it any day or time of the week, including weekends. The information will automatically come to Ms Uroda and Mrs Sammut.
