Parent Talk newsletter aims to provide parents and carers with relevant and timely information about parenting, education, wellbeing, upcoming Council of Catholic School Parents (CCSP) events and webinars for parents, and significant Catholic news and events.

The Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT represents all parents and carers of students in our Catholic schools. We value and promote the critical role that parents play in the education of their children, and provide leadership, advocacy and support for parents and carers of children in almost 600 Catholic schools. The Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT is conducting a survey to gauge parental involvement in their child's school including their learning. They are looking to receive feedback on areas that are really important to parents. Participants have the option to receive a 2024 Faith Diary as a token of appreciation by providing their name, address, and mobile phone number at the end of the survey.

Scholastic Book Club

Premier's Reading Challenge

The challenge aims to encourage a love of learning for leisure and pleasure in student's.  It is not a competition - however, there are rewards of certificates and medals for participants - but a challenge to each student to read, read more and to read more widely.

Between Monday 26 February and Friday 23 August 2024 students in Year 3-6 are encouraged to read and record what they have read at the link below.  Student's in K-2 will participate and have their entries uploaded in class.  Countless research links the time spent reading quality literature to improved results in school - this is a way to support improvement in your child's literacy, knowledge and vocabulary skills.

Each child is able to borrow books from the school library, which count towards the Challenge, when they bring their library bag to school every Friday.

Teachers will be able to provide log in details in Years 3-6 next week.

Clean Up Australia Day Working Bee

Thank you to all the wonderful families who came along to the Clean Up Australia Day Working Bee on Sunday.  The fabulous turnout helped get all the jobs completed in less than 2 hours.  It was a hugely successful day, the kids all had a ball and the school is looking fantastic! A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!
