FAITH
SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST 2024
Congratulations to our first group of Year 3 and 5 children who celebrated their First Holy Communion at St. Brigid’s Church on Sunday, 18 August. It was a truly special ceremony filled with love, faith, and joy! The children led the Mass with confidence and looked absolutely splendid in their special attire. They received this important sacrament surrounded by their families, friends, staff, and parishioners. We are all incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
On Sunday, 25 August, our second group of Year 3 students will receive their First Holy Communion. Please continue to pray for these students, their families, and their teachers during this final week of preparation.
Over the last few weeks of preparation, all the children have shown real enthusiasm and interest as they moved towards this very special milestone in their faith journey. During his homily on Sunday, Fr. Bernard reminded us all of the joy that comes from receiving the Body of Christ through the eyes of our First Communicants, and how we, as adults, can also strengthen our union with Him and His Church as we partake in this blessed sacrament.
Along with their First Holy Communion, 24 of our students also received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Congratulations to those Year 3 and Year 5 students! May they always seek the forgiveness and love of our merciful God as they continue on their journey of faith.
St Augustine - Wednesday 28th August |
He is known as one of the most significant and influential thinkers in the history of the Catholic Church. His teachings were the foundation of Christian doctrine for a millennium.“You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” (St. Augustine, Confessions)

The Passion of St John the Baptist - Thursday 29th August St. John the Baptist was sent by God to prepare for the coming of Jesus and as a result suffered the fate of many Old Testament prophets before him:rejection and martyrdom. John had many followers, but ultimately he knew that his calling was one of preparation. |
CLASS MASS TIMETABLE FOR TERM 3
Each term, our students have the opportunity to attend Mass with our St. Brigid's parishioners. This cherished tradition is a central aspect of our students’ faith formation, serving as the greatest act of worship and a sacred celebration of community.
We warmly invite parents, carers, grandparents, and relatives to join us for Mass, especially when their child(ren) are involved. After each Mass, we serve tea, coffee and biscuits, offering a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and members of our parish community. Additionally, you are welcome to visit the classroom for a 10-15 minute learning walk following Mass. Please see the schedule for Term 3:
