FAITH
STORY TELLING
This week we welcomed many parents to be part of our Religious Education Storytelling Open House sessions. This was an opportunity to share how the use of story, with its use of tactile materials and images, engages and connects our students to their learning while supporting their faith development and religious literacy.
From Kindergarten to Year 6, our students are regularly invited to reflect on Sacred Scripture, encounter religious language, talk with God through prayer and explore meaning of symbols and rituals. Students also learn empathy and engage with differing worldviews.
The storytelling approach nurtures our students’ curiosity, imagination and wonder and provides them with the opportunity to know how much God loves them and when they are drawn into a love of God and others.
Thank you to those parents and family members who were able to share in these very special storytelling sessions.
