PRINCIPAL'S REFLECTION

Dear families and friends of St Brigid's,

Each year, during the Church Season of Lent, we focus on a particular theme for our actions and prayer. Caritas leads us in this through its Project Compassion Appeal, and this year’s theme is Unite Against Poverty this Lent.

As we journey through the coming weeks of Lent, in preparation for the great feast of Easter, we are called to keep in mind the many people, both in our own country and overseas, who suffer from the hardships and tragedies of poverty.

In this Jubilee Year, Caritas invites us to act on the theme of Hope by coming together to Unite Against Poverty. As Catholic communities, parishes, schools, and families, we can participate in Project Compassion to turn our Christian compassion into a powerful force for change. Together, we can have an impact where it’s needed most and shine the loving light of Christ through our actions and prayers.

During Lent, students at St Brigid’s, along with their families, will be encouraged and supported in participating in fundraising activities and prayerful reflection on the true meaning of Christian charity. Together, we can make a difference!

Reflection Questions for the St. Brigid's School Community:

Compassion: How can we show compassion for those suffering from poverty, both locally and globally, during this Lenten season?
  • Courage: In what ways can we find the courage to act, even when the challenges seem overwhelming, to support those in need?
  • Service and Stewardship: How can we embody the values of service and stewardship by using our time, talents, and resources to make a difference through our fundraising efforts and prayers?

Together, let’s journey through Lent with hearts full of compassion, courage, service, and stewardship, keeping those in need in our prayers and actions. By living out our school values, we can truly shine the loving light of Christ in the world.
