BASKETBALL GALA DAYS
Many varied skills were on show on the basketball courts at Berkeley Stadium last week. The Junior and Senior Basketball Gala Day ran over two days last Thursday and Friday. The junior girls and boys played there games on Thursday and the following day saw the two senior girls and two senior boy's teams take the court.
Congratulations to all of our students from Years 3 to 6 who had a great time participating in a sport, that for some children, was very familiar to them, but for others it was their first time playing the game. All children played in the true spirit of the day making sure that they had a great time playing with their friends, including everyone and showing good sportsmanship. Our students were always mindful to acknowledge the opposition and thank the referees for the game. It was wonderful to see our students enjoying their day of basketball.
I would like to thank the following parents who volunteered their time to act as our managers. They made sure that their team was at the right court at the right time, substituted players and offered encouragement and support.
Thank you very much to Marie Linnehan, Mark Jackson, Martin Chenery, Josie Crocco, Charbel Youssef, Sandy Robinson and Tory Lavelle. A special thank you to Mark Jackson who was not only a manager for both days, but stepped in to referee some of our junior games. Thank you also to Mrs Tarlinton who was there to give assistance to our students.
