Dear Parents and friends,
As Fathers’ Day approaches once again, we will pause to remember and celebrate our fathers and those who have been father-figures in our lives. Most of us, including our children, will be able to celebrate a father who is strong, lends a guiding hand, and shares his wisdom and help. How grateful we should be for the gift of such a man in our lives.
Not all dads are super-heroes, of course… the pressure of that would be too much for anyone! However, most fathers would agree that the strength of a father’s love, as they carry out and grow into that role day to day and year to year, can turn them into heroes, adventurers, story-tellers and singers of songs - roles they might never have imagined for themselves.
In that beautiful scripture reading from 1 Corinthians 13, all fathers might be reminded:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
On Fathers’ Day we pray for all the dads in our families and our lives, who have given us life and love, that they might be granted the blessings and strength to let their faith and love shine forth. We also pray that we, their sons and daughters, may honour them always with a spirit of profound respect.

A huge thank you to Lil, Rebecca, Lucy, Fiona, Luke, Kristina, Ainsley, Elena, Marie, Angela, Helen, Erin and Elisa for coordinating the scrumptious breakfast and the gift stall. Well done team!
Yours in Faith, Justice and Learning
It was wonderful that so many parents, grandparents and friends helped us celebrate 'Reading is my secret power' Book Week. There were many fantastic costumes and fun activities in the classrooms. Thank you to Ms Harris who organised the book parade for us.

YEAR 5 AND 6 CAMP
The Year 5 and 6 students had a wonderful time at the three day Residential Outdoor Education Camp, conducted by NSW Sport and Recreation at Berry.
The overall aim of the camp was to enhance the students’ leadership skills, increase their confidence in their own abilities and assist them in learning to cooperate and work with others through controlled experiences. The activities of team building, problem solving, innovation, adventure challenge games, trust and support certainly ensured that everyone had a great time.
I am very grateful to these four staff members; Nichole Harris, Anna Arthur-Worsop, Mark Boss and Kelly Young for their outstanding care, commitment and dedication they have shown to the students in their care. Thank you.

SEASON OF CREATION
The Season of Creation begins September 1, The Day of Prayer for Creation, and ends October 4, the feast day of St Francis of Assisi.
During the Season of Creation, Christians all over the world rejoice together. We are called to honour the Creator by loving creation and each other. This year we are protecting the web of life, in all its variety because each species reveals to us the glory of the creator. And we will put our faith into practice through prayer, hands on action and advocacy.
What can you do to protect the web of life?
Check out the official site for more information https://seasonofcreation.org/
PLEDGE OF COMMITMENT - TO PROTECT AND HEAL GOD’S CREATION
We have come to renew our covenant with God and with one another in Christ Jesus, our Lord. We have come to help protect God's creation.
We have come as followers of Jesus to commit ourselves anew to one another and to heal injustice and poverty. We have come to stand together against all threats to life.
We have come to discover some new beauty every day in God's creation: the sunrise and sunset, birds, flowers and trees, rainbows in the sky, the stars, the many forms of life in the forest.
We have come to listen to the "music of the universe"- water flowing over rocks, the wind, trees bending in the wind, raindrops pattering the roof.
We will remember always that God speaks to us through the beauty of his creation, and we will try our best to answer God's call to reverence all that he has created.
Congratulations to the following students on receiving their awards during the last fortnight.
